Microgaming’s Gift of Giving campaign completed its fourth year with a GBP 30,000 donation split equally between hard working charities in four different regions.
The company’s commendable PlayItForward initiative began with an idea to redirect funds Microgaming would have spent on end of year customer gifts to charitable organisations. The recipients in each region are those with the most votes selected by Microgaming customers each year.
The highest number of customers votes for December 2016 were the Women’s Refuge (Isle of Man), Teenage Cancer Trust (UK and Europe), Save the Rhino (Africa) and Médecins Sans Frontières (Rest of the World).
“The cost of running our charity is expensive, so we are absolutely over the moon to receive £7,500 from Microgaming,” Thelma Lomax from Women’s Refuge said.
Sabina Ruta, regional fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “We were so excited to receive the call from Claire at Microgaming that we had won the UK and Europe customer vote as part of the Gift of Giving campaign – it’s a fantastic start to the New Year.”
“We would like to thank everyone who voted for Save the Rhino International and to Microgaming for making a generous donation of £7,500 to protect rhinos,” Josephine Gibson, Partnership Development Manager at Save the Rhino, commented.
“We are absolutely delighted to be given a gift of £7,500 from Microgaming. This support couldn’t come at a more crucial time for MSF, as our medical staff around the world face unprecedented challenges,” Stephen Legg, Major Gifts Manager, MSF UK concluded.
