Online casino punters have been looking forward to the launch of the latest Batman branded online slot from Microgaming for weeks, and should be more than happy with the unveiling of “The Dark Knight Rises” Friday – a sequel to the outrageously popular “Dark Knight” game which launched last year.
The Dark Knight Rises is a five reel, 243 ways-to-win video slot which offers a multitude of special features to excite fans. The slot introduces several new features to gameplay including a split wild which forms a six of a kind winning arrangement, and a symbol scramble that rearranges symbols to create the best possible winning combination.
Batman and the villainous Bane take centre stage when the game enters fight mode, and the characters engage in an epic fight to accumulate free spins and multipliers. The fight mode is randomly triggered throughout play and the more it occurs, the larger the accumulative wins will grow.
To redeem the rewards collected during the fight mode, a player must gain entry to the free spins feature, triggered by three or more scatter bombs on the reels. At this point, the player can choose to initiate either Batman or Bane’s rewards. Adding to a player’s decision is the unique set of features that Batman and Bane each carry, such as rolling reels and extra wild blasts.
Developed through a licensing agreement with DC Entertainment, The Dark Knight Rises online slot is based on the legendary motion picture from Warner Bros. The game includes all of the iconic, main characters as well as video clips from the blockbuster movie, which is currently the ninth highest grossing film of all time.
Microgaming spokesmen say that in order to bring the hard-hitting, fast-paced nature of the film to the slot, the Isle of Man-based company has pushed the audio-visual boundaries in terms of game development.
To create the fight sequences between Batman and Bane in a style akin to the film, experts scrutinised film footage in order to choreograph and develop realistic fight sequences specifically for the online slot.
The new online slot is now live with operators on the download, Flash and Quickfire platforms.
Roger Raatgever, CEO, Microgaming, said Friday: “It is always very exciting to be launching a game sequel, especially when the first instalment has become such a success.
“Our game development team have done an incredible job. The slot fully embraces the Batman brand and pays justice to the film whilst also incorporating a series of pioneering features to enhance the player experience. Batman fans will not be disappointed; we expect The Dark Knight Rises online slot to be just as popular as The Dark Knight, if not more.”
