Is Microgaming withdrawing Lord Of The Rings slot?

Rumours sweeping through player and affiliate message boards Thursday are that Microgaming is to withdraw its popular Lord of The Rings, Fellowship of the Ring internet slot.

Several affiliates have claimed that Microgaming licensees have been informed by the software provider that LOTR is to be removed from the games inventory by May 31.

LOTR was launched with great fanfare and panache in 2010 and quickly became a major favourite with many players.

So far no reason for the reported withdrawal has emerged, and Microgaming has yet to confirm whether the rumour is correct.
