The power of eSports to pull big online as well as land crowds was again illustrated this weekend in the inaugural Clash Royale live tournament, organised by developer Supercell in Helsinki, Finland.
The tournament drew 200 international top players who competed for a $15,000 prize pool.
The event was streamed live on Twitch and Twitter, drawing a massive audience; on Twitch there were over 2.6 million views with 65,000 concurrents for the final, whilst YouTube had 45,000.
The tourney follows an equally successful Vainglory world tour, demonstrating the continued popularity of the eSports vertical and showcasing Supercall’s Clash Royale as the potential next billion dollar mobile game.
