Missouri lawmakers continued to race against the clock Wednesday on HB1941, a daily fantasy sport legalisation bill which has been broadly approved by House and Senate but is being held up by a difference in annual fee requirements (see previous reports).
After a positive vote in the Senate Tuesday night the bill went to the Senate Fiscal Committee, which approved it and sent it back to the House in an attempt to resolve the fee differences…hopefully today (Thursday).
Friday is the deadline for passage and forwarding to the governor’s desk, so it is already a close-run issue.
Two proposed fees need to be reconciled: One is an annual license: either $10,000 or 10 percent of the prior year’s net revenue. The second fee is the annual operating license of 11.5 percent.
