The Boston-based fantasy football platform provider Mondogoal is to partner with Intralot in order to expand into the Italian fantasy market, the company announced this week.
Mondogoal is launching a new Italian-facing website in concert with the partnership deal, incorporating both freemium and real money gambling services.
Shergul Arshad, founder and chief executive of Mondogoal, said in a statement that the Intralot agreement is the first of hopefully other deals with international online sports betting operators. He said that his experience as head of digital at Italian Serie A football club AS Roma would be useful in furthering the commercial success of the partnership.
The company has extended its operational format into daily fantasy football competitions recently, leveraging the rising popularity of the vertical in Europe.
Mondogoal holds a UK Gambling Commission licence and is active in that market, where it has inked sponsorship agreements with several English Premier League teams. The fantasy football firm is also active in Spain, and Arshad has revealed that over eighty percent of the company’s revenues are generated in Europe.
