Mondogoal, a UK-based daily fantasy sports operator with big international ambitions, has announced the launch of three new global leagues: the Chinese Super League, the Russian Premier League and the Turkish Super League.
Outlining his company’s strategy, VP marketing Chris Mazzone said in a statement Thursday:
“Our goal to be the first truly global DFS product and the number one (daily fantasy sports) place for football, by launching RPL, TSL, and CSL, we are one step closer to achieving that.
“It’s obvious to us that the Chinese Super League is serious about becoming a big time player in the sport with the way they are acquiring players. We think it makes sense to get involved early and capitalize on the intrigue and excitement surrounding the league.”
Mondogoal will be offering free fantasy contests involving the new leagues, expanding from its current real-money games across the UK, Brazil, Italy, Canada and Ireland fantasy football markets. Current real-money players will be welcomed in the new leagues, Mazzone confirmed.
Shergul Arshad, CEO and a founder of Mondogoal, said that the new leagues carried forward his company’s global expansion strategy, adding:
“China in particular is exciting because we can capture a portion of a billion people playing what will at first be freerolls. Expansion into Chinese Mandarin is planned, and perhaps mixing in prizes or small cash outlays could happen soon.”
