Jakarta police continued to put pressure on illegal online gambling operators in Indonesia this week, arresting two more men for allegedly gambling and operating online gambling websites.
“We arrested two suspects, Fran Diko, known as Asen, and Joeng Hock, alias Apen, on September 14 in Tambora, West Jakarta,” Jakarta Police flying squad chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Herry Heryawan said on Monday.
Herry said that the men were online gamblers and also operated three online soccer gambling websites for over a year.
Gamblers were required to open accounts on the websites and transfer money to the suspects’ bank accounts to begin wagering.
The police seized three laptops, bank account books, two ATM cards and three cellular phones whilst making the arrests.
“The two are charged with Article 303 of the Criminal Code on gambling,” Herry said.
