The long list of South Korean nationals busted in Thailand for running online gambling related sites targeting their home country continued to grow with four more arrests this week.
Thai police officials from the Crime Suppression Division identified those detained as Lee Min-kyu, Kim Hong-in, Park Jung-gi and Son Suck-won following a raid on a twelfth floor luxury apartment in the Klong Toey district.
Four computers and 11 mobile phones, along with documentary evidence and a large sum of money was seized by the raiding party.
Pol Lt Col Torsak Sookwimol, acting commander of the CSD’s Special Forces Unit, said the current operation was an offshoot of similar raids last week in which a number of South Koreans had been arrested .
He claimed police were working with Interpol on a trans-national basis, and that the latest four men arrested were associated with an illegal Korean internet gambling network which also operated from the Philippines and Cambodia.
