Police in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality seized 94 suspects involved in an online gambling case, the local public security bureau announced Friday.
Police said that more than 350 million yuan (US$ 55 million) was involved in the case. Altogether 13 online gambling websites, with more than 100,000 registered users, were closed, according to a Xinhua news agency report.

An Internet technology company co-run by two suspects surnamed Feng and Yu caught the attention of police in February, Xinhua reports. An investigation showed that the company had been providing rental servers and technology support for online gambling websites.
The entire gang was busted April 8, with the case now under further investigation.
Chongqing police have seized 453 suspects involved in online gambling since February.
