The Mybet online gambling operator has withdrawn its claim against the Westdeutsche Lotterie GmbH & Co. OHG after the latter agreed to a Euro 11.8 million out of court settlement in respect of cartel infringement associated with a boycott of Mybet in contravention of competition laws.
The 10 year dispute saw the courts ruling for Mybet subsidiary SWS Service GmbH in 2014, but delays occasioned by appeals have dragged the matter out.
Media reports indicate that Mybet will probably only receive Euro 4.9 million of the settlement due to complicated interim financing arrangements that it entered into with an unknown third party, which will reap profits from the deal.
