Mystery continues to surround the sudden resignation and departure of Vancouver-based online games developer Genesis Gaming founder and CEO Steven Meistrich announced by the company in a press release on December 23 2013.
The announcement included details of a comprehensive revamp of the management team which took effect immediately and included:
* The appointment of Geoffrey Hansen as managing director, worldwide operations;
* Scott Sims, co-founder of the company made vice president of game design studios, worldwide;
* Joe Cheung, appointed director of finance; and
* James Watson, appointed director of European sales
The statement emphasised that the company’s strategic direction remains unchanged, with a commitment to land-based and online slot game development, innovation in mobile and social casino gaming, and expansion in both European and North American casino markets.
Hansen said he had been active in business and technology development for the company for the last 18 months and new initiatives had positioned it for new markets and growth.
Co-founder Scott Sims said: “The change in management has brought new energy and productivity to our game development studios, and we look forward to showing our customers new concepts and games in the new year.”
The statement gave no reasons for Meistrich’s exit just months after he established a London office including a support centre in Soho for the company’s European and UK customers.
