The tempo of daily fantasy sports company sponsorship deals with national league teams appears to be increasing, with a new deal this week which saw Draftkings ink an agreement with struggling NBA team the Philadelphia 76ers.
Boston-based Draftkings already has a sponsorship relationship with the National Football League team the New England Patriots, signed earlier this year (see previous report).
Philadelphia 76ers chief executive Scott O’Neil was full of praise for the fantasy sports company, saying:
“There is incredible opportunity emerging in the fantasy gaming market, and we are proud to be the first NBA team to align with DraftKings.”
Draftkings CEO Jason Robins said of his company’s new partner:
“They are a remarkably well-run organization with incredibly entrenched fans, whom we are looking forward to exciting with our daily fantasy contests, experiences, and awards.”
