Microgaming may have done it first, but Net Entertainment’s combination of Texas poker with a standard internet slot machine in its latest new game release is both entertaining and appealing, and ‘Kings of Chicago’ constitutes formidable competition.
This new slot follows a slew of top quality offerings from the Swedish online gambling software provider that recently has included Frankenstein, Dragon’s Island and Egyptian Heroes .
Kings of Chicago has a Roaring Twenties American gangster theme and is the first game offering from Net Entertainment that blends the essential elements of a Video Poker game into a Video Slot, using playing cards in a video slot environment.
The conventional slot symbols have been replaced by a deck of cards and the player bets on winning poker hands appearing along the 5 bet lines, which are populated by relevant graphics of tommy-gun toting hoods and gangster’s molls.
At the start of each round, the 15 cards from one deck are dealt into a 3 x 5 formation and the player wins with a poker combination of three of a kind or higher. A single Joker card is shuffled in as a Wild and doubles the wins when it completes winning hands. There is also a Free Deals feature, trigged by three or more scatter icons and rewarding the player with a 2x multiplier.
