Sweden’s Net Entertainment announced its entry into the profitable branded online gaming arena with a multi-year licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, a division of media giant NBC Universal.
The deal gives Net Entertainment the rights to develop content based on selected Universal properties. Johan Öhman, CEO Net Entertainment said, “This is a landmark for Net Entertainment, and will enable us to further enhance our product offering to also include games based on brands and characters well know to the mass market”.
Net Entertainment’s entry into the branded online gaming space will see the company competing with the likes of CryptoLogic, Chartwell and Playtech who have signed multi-licence agreements with film studio Paramount Pictures.
