NetEnt has signed a licensing deal with Global Merchandising Services for the right to develop a branded slot centred on the legendary Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne.
The slot will be added to NetEnt’s Rock portfolio already featuring Guns n’ Roses™, Jimi HendrixTM and Motörhead™.
Osbourne has sold more than 100 million albums as a solo artist and as the lead vocalist for heavy metal band Black Sabbath in the 1970s.
“Rock stars don’t come much bigger, better known, or charismatic than Ozzy Osbourne,” Bryan Upton, NetEnt Director of Game Products, said.
“Thanks to his larger-than-life personality and outstanding contribution to music, Ozzy has developed a loyal and passionate following over the past 50 years – we can’t wait to bring this to the reels for players to enjoy.”
“NetEnt are the market leaders in their field and we’re incredibly excited to add another of our artists to the exciting NetEnt Rocks family of games,” added Barry Drinkwater, Chairman of Global Merchandising Services.
In related news, NetEnt has secured the rights to mythical hero, Conan, for a new character-driven branded slots game.
Conan, who has been the subject of numerous films, books, comics and video and board games, will be given a makeover by NetEnt to fit in with its inimitable style.
The sword and sorcery-themed game will boost NetEnt’s portfolio of branded, exclusive content which currently includes NarcosTM, VikingsTM, Jumanji™, Planet of the Apes™, Guns n’ Roses™, Motörhead ™ and Jimi Hendrix™.
“Conan is a character and a brand with a fantastic history and legions of fans all over the world. We are honoured to be creating our own adaptation of Conan and can’t wait to give him the hallmark NetEnt treatment,” Upton said.
