Nevada’s sports betting operators will soon be permitted to offer multi-event bets on eSports competitions, according to Karl Bennison, an enforcement executive with the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Bennison was briefing industry execs attending legal panel debates at the recent Casino eSports conference in Las Vegas, explaining that hitherto operators had been allowed only to offer bets on a single event at a time.
The Gaming Control Board policy change enables eSports betting operators to apply for permission to accept wagers on a series of sports events, significantly expanding the potential of the eSports betting industry.
The change (an implementation date is yet to be set) comes with conditions; the eSports games must be organised by one and the same company, and the regulator must be satisfied with the probity, responsible gambling commitment and financial stability of the organiser.
