The Nevada State Gaming Control Board reported a 17 percent rise in State casino revenues during July 2012 compared to the same period last year which were largely attributed to a strong month for Las Vegas Strip venues.
Las Vegas Strip revenues contributed $597 million, up 28 percent y-o-y, of the total $1 Billion recorded in the State during the month of July. Downtown Las Vegas brought in $41 Million, an increase of over 16 percent.
Reno didn’t fare as well as its Southern counter parts, reporting revenues of $46 Million down by 9 percent, while the South Lake Tahoe area’s revenue of $30 Million remained static.
According to the VC Star, the State of Nevada collected around $68 Million in winnings taxes, an increase of 40 percent compared to last year.
