New advert agency for Paddy Power

Paddy Power’s marketing chief, Gav Thompson has announced the appointment of WE ARE Pi as the betting group’s advertising agency.

The announcement coincides with the release of new television adverts promoting Rugby World Cup action which play on the recent scandal in which an American dentist cum amateur hunter shot the legendary lion “Cecil” in Zimbabwe.

Thompson described WE ARE Pi as “our kind of agency; creative, restless and non-conformists”.

The head of the agency, Paddy Garvey, said working with Paddy Power gave his company the opportunity to “let off some steam and cause some trouble. In this case we are targeting the bad guys, and hope to spark change by making noise.”

Among the leading companies on WE ARE Pi’s client list are Wrangler Jeans, Coca Cola, Lego and Under Armour.
