New Antigua trade body formed

Antigua businessman Nigel Pigott is the driving force behind a new online gambling operator trade association that also wants to work with the local government to restore the Antigua gaming and licensing jurisdiction to its former prominence.

Titled Antigua Leisure and Gaming Association (ALGA), the organisation has put up an informative website detailing the history and importance of the industry to the Caribbean island, and recommending ways in which it can be resurrected to take its place among other popular international regulatory regimes such as the Isle of Man, Alderney and Malta.

ALGA is also on board with the government’s proposal to establish a Gambling Authority to handle regulatory matters instead of the Financial Services Regulatory Commission.
