The new Belgian Government said it will review the country’s Games of Chance Act of 7 May 1999 in a coalition agreement presented this week.
Within the coalition agreement the new Government has proposed an increase in the number of “Class 1 establishments of game of the chance” from 9 to 11.
Another two terrestrial casino additions to the market may open up opportunities for online operators as the requirement exists for operators to partner with a land-based entity.
Other proposals in the agreement include the preparation of regulations that would allow international cruise liners to continue offering casinos or games of chance on board in Belgian waters prior to anchorage.
