Online payment processor Optimal Payments, parent group of Neteller and Netbanx, has appointed Dennis Jones as its new non-executive chairman, alongside two new directors following the resignation of non-executives John Bateson and Jonathan Comerford, the latter having served as interim chairman since November last year.
The new directors are Ian Jenks and Andrew Dark. Jenks has worked as an investor and chief executive of a number of businesses in the communications and industrial technology sectors. He was previously executive chairman and CEO of cloud computing business Intune Networks, and is currently a director of mobile data provider Birdstep Technologies.
Dark is chief executive of dynamic digital display solutions provider Displaydata Limited, and also holds a number of positions including chairman of card payment technology developer Miura Systems and technology start-up Mappt Ltd and is a director of New Era Sports Digital.
Jones has almost thirty years’ experience in payments and payment processing, having served as president, director and chief executive officer of Royal Bank of Scotland subsidiary RBS National Bank. He currently chairs a subsidiary of Optimal, and has previously served as a director for data analytics service provider Argus Information Services and the financial services arm of Kroger Corporation, the second-largest retail business in the US.
“Optimal Payments has an outstanding executive team who I know very well, a superb suite of products, a technology capability that is differentiated and a host of opportunities in markets of which I’m very familiar,” Jones said of his appointment as chairman.
“I’m looking forward to working with the executive team and playing a full part in the company’s continuing growth.”
