Police in New Delhi, India have reported the arrest of three bookmakers they claim were caught Friday in a raid on a rented house in the suburbs.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma identified the accuseds as Vinod Sharma, Vikas Choudhary and Mukesh Aggarwal – all residents of Delhi, and revealed that police officers seized 13 mobile phones, two laptops and three televisions, along with documentary evidence.
Verna said that the trio had placed significant bets on a cricket match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League, using online betting websites to get details of the match, as live telecast lags by four to five seconds from real time.
He claimed that the accuseds were using specialised software to keep a record of everyone placing bets with them and to keep records on the matches and their earnings.
