New eSports chief for Luckbox

Aleksandar Dimitrov, formerly a poker product manager with Playtech plc has been appointed head of sportsbook for eSports betting start-up Luckbox, with the responsibility for the launch of the new platform.
In his 10 years of experience in the industry Dimitrov has also served as head of product at Lottotech. He will be based with the Luckbox development team at Plovdiv, Bulgaria, specifically charged with seeing the eSports elements properly presented in the Luckbox sportsbook.
Announcing Dimitriv’s appointment, Boris Mihov, chief product officer at Luckbox, said: “We’re working hard to build the strongest possible team – not only in terms of talent and experience but also passion for and understanding of eSports. Finding someone to manage our sportsbook is a big part of the puzzle for us and to get someone of Alex’s calibre is just fantastic for our company and the rest of the team.”
Founded by former PokerStars execs Lars Lien and Mike Stevens, Luckbox is set to launch its new eSports betting platform in early 2019, with support from Omega Systems (see previous report).
Luckbox has successfully achieved licensing status with the Isle of Man , and has voiced its ambitions to expand into Canada, the Nordic nations and the CIS region.
