Jiri Hosnedi only joined the lottery division of eastern European gambling group Fortuna Entertainment in June this year as operations and IT director, but already he has been promoted to general manager w.e.f. December 1st, according to a statement this week from the company.
He is to replace Martin Illner, who is departing for personal reasons.
The 48-year-old has an impressive resume, having served as technical manager for the Czech lottery operator Sazka SA since 1991.
“Under the management of Martin Illner, Fortuna Lottery has been established in the Czech numerical lottery market, [and has] managed to build strong brand awareness,” said Hosnedl this week. “My priority will be bringing the distribution network of terminals to 3,000 sales points, enhancing dynamic growth of Loto and Golden 11 and introducing new games and scratch tickets to the market.
“I am taking over from Martin a quality and highly efficient team of people which is key for further development.’
