South African Provincial Premier of KwaZulu Natal, Edward Mchunu, has appointed a new nine-member Gambling and Betting Board, following the previous board’s tumultuous history in which Mchunu alludes to the previous executive authority’s questionable involvement in matters of the board.
According to Mchunu, Gaming and Betting is a “huge player in the provinces revenue collection,” with R449 million collected in the 2017 financial year.
The nine member board comprises:
1. Dr Sakhile Ben Ngcobo (Chairperson)
2. Ms Mbali Myeni as (Deputy Chairperson)
3. Mr Sanele Siyabonga Zondi
4. Advocate Khayelihle Prince Thanngo
5. Mr Siva Chetty
6. Prof Bruce Stamford Stobie
7. Thokozani Ian Nzimakwe
8. Zinhle Precious Tenza
9. Sifiso Lucky Gabela
