The state of New Hampshire has followed its recent legalisation of online lottery sales (see previous report) with the legalisation within state borders of daily fantasy sports.
Gov. Chris Sununu signed the DFS bill H580 into state law Tuesday, making New Hampshire the 13th state to allow DFS.
The bill was approved by the state House and Senate last month and tasks the New Hampshire Lottery Commission with drafting and implementing regulations for DFS, and the monitoring and enforcement of operators.
Operators will not be charged fees, but must register with the Commission and comply with its regulations, which will include consumer protection elements and provisions which have now become common in DFS laws such as a ban on operator employees competing, the segregation of player deposits and funds from operating accounts, and the availability of responsible gambling facilities.
The bill imposes a minimum playing age of 18 years.
