Online gambling continued to make a useful contribution to the prosperity of land casinos in New Jersey during the month of June, according to the latest statistics from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Land operations delivered revenues 3.6 percent lower year-on-year at $197.5 million, boosted to an overall $216.6 million by an online gambling contribution of $16.4 million (June 2015: $11.7 million) to produce an overall year-on-year decline of 1.2 percent.
On a year-on-year comparison basis overall online gambling revenues in June were up 40 percent on the 2015 figures.
Online poker revenues at $1.96 million declined 23 percent compared with May 2016; and online casino revenues came in at $14.43 million compared with $13.97 million in May 2016 – up 3.3 percent. Pokerstars led the online poker market with 39.5 percent market share but had a less than stellar month due to the ongoing World Series of Poker.
Pokerstars was chased by CIE-WSOP-888 with 30.5 percent of the market, and PartyPoker- Borgata with 29.9 percent.
Encouragingly, online poker revenues year-on-year were up 7.2 percent compared with June 2015.
Taking the online gambling market in New Jersey as a whole, the Borgata-PartyPoker- Pala alliance continued to hold the top spot with a market share of 23 percent, followed by Golden Nugget-Betfair (21.5 percent), Tropicana (20.4 percent), CIE (18.5 percent) and Resorts-Pokerstars (16.5 percent)
