Figures released Thursday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement show that for the 13th month running online revenues rose above the $20 million a month benchmark in March, with a 17.6 percent y-o-y improvement at $25.6 million…itself a record topping the previous benchmark set in February this year by $3.6 million.
Online casino operations were again the biggest contributor, delivering $23.6 million of the revenue – a 21.1 percent year-on-year improvement. Online poker was again a disappointment, declining 12.6 percent to just $1.97 million.
Market leader Golden Nugget maintained its position with $8.65 million in revenue, up 40 percent y-o-y and a new record for the operator, who’s previous best was $7.88 million in February this year.
Nearest rival Borgata came in with half that at $4.35 million, followed by Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey with $4.4 million, Resorts International on $4.2 million, and Tropicana on $3.7 million.
Lifetime online gambling revenue in the state remains on track to hit $1 billion by the end of the year.
New Jersey has already amassed $69.5 million in total revenue this year, up 17.3 percent from $59.3 million in Q1 2017. The three months of 2018 represent the three highest monthly revenue totals since New Jersey legalised and regulated online gambling in 2013.
New Jersey online casinos paid $4.5 million in taxes to the state in March.
