Lottomatica Group S.p.A.’s subsidiary GTECH has announced an agreement with a consortium of companies to supply lottery technology, equipment and software services to implement a new online lottery in Madagascar.
The consortium includes Lotwin Investments LTD and subsidiary Reel Mada SA amongst others. Through contractual agreements with Société d’Exploitation de Loterie, a quasi government-owned entity set up to operate, or contract with third parties to operate lotteries on the island, Reel Mada and its affiliates have been authorized to operate an online lottery in Madagascar.
“GTECH is pleased to provide the technology, support services, and game development necessary to operate an online lottery in Madagascar,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “We will deliver a world-class lottery platform and solutions specifically tailored for the market of Madagascar. We have already established a great partnership with Lotwin and its subsidiaries, and we look forward to working with them on this new project.”
“After our successful implementation last year for Loterie Nationale in Mauritius, GTECH was our logical choice to provide the technology and support for our project in Madagascar,” said Lotwin CEO Jean-Pierre Desbiens. “We want to ensure an equally successful launch, and we are confident in GTECH’s ability to deliver the best solutions for Madagascar.”
The system is scheduled to go live in February, with a weekly jackpot lotto game being launched initially.
