Margot Robbie, beautiful star of the hit movie Wolf of Wall Street has been signed for a new Warner Bros movie on the world of illegal sportsbetting in the ‘eighties and ‘nineties, according to entertainment media reports.

Titled “Dangerous Odds” the movie is based on the memoirs of Marisa J. Lankester, a model and award winning author who became embroiled in the billion dollar US and Dominican Republic-based illegal sports betting activities of Ron ‘The Cigar’ Sacco, and felt the weight of Justice Department enforcement actions.

Lankester (now 51) joined Sacco’s company after meeting one of the sports betting operator’s employees on the CanAMex  marathon car rally across America and Alaska in 1986 and was soon a key manager in the billion dollar enterprise, with which she remained until 1994 despite persistent raids and other enforcement activities.

Now resident in Switzerland, Lankester became a respected author, her memoir “Dangerous Odds” winning one of several awards she has received for her books.

The film is based on Lankester’s experiences and will be adapted for the big screen by World Trade Center scribe Andrea Berloff.
