The Delaware State Lottery has reported that March 2016 figures for legalised online gambling in the state set a new record at $260,539, surpassing the previous best results in April 2014 of $240,762.
Our readers will recall that February 2016 was also a good month in which the three state licensed racinos offering online gambling took in $229,789.
On a year-on-year basis the March 2016 numbers represent a notable 78 percent improvement.
Online casino action was however disappointing, down 30 percent on the preceding month at $68,420, although brick and mortar action fared better.
Online poker rake and fees came in at $37,324 – the highest in 10 months – and a 32 percent improvement on the preceding month of February 2016. However, on a year-on-year basis online poker declined 14.5 percent from the rake and fees recorded in March 2015.
Video lottery action was the biggest contributor to the state’s March success, achieving a new high of $154,794 on the VLTs…49 percent up on February 2016, and better than the previous record month for the genre in January this year when revenues peaked at $138,391.
