Development platform provider Unity Technologies and social media juggernaut Facebook have teamed up in support of game developers with the launch of a new Facebook PC gaming platform.
Developers are invited to export their Unity 5.4+ games to the platform to provide them new ways to reach and engage literally hundreds of millions of gamers across Facebook.
As an extension to their existing relationship, Unity will integrate support for the Facebook platform, including an all-new PC gaming platform, which is currently in development. The companies will also join forces to build new functionality into Unity that streamlines the process for exporting and publishing games onto Facebook.
“Starting today , we’re selecting a limited group of developers to receive immediate access to a closed-alpha build of the new export to Facebook functionality in Unity version 5.4. New developers will be on-boarded on an ongoing basis throughout the testing period”, a Facebook advisory reads.
