Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh opened its new land-based Rivers Sportbook under Pennsylvanian gambling laws on Thursday December 13.
Philadephia-based Sugarhouse Casino chose the same day to launch its new land-based sportsbook with similarly limited open hours whilst operations get into gear, in line with the requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Provided there are no glitches, the two sportsbooks (both are owned by Rush Street Gaming) will go to full opening hours and operational status this coming weekend, powered by the Rush Street – Kambi technology partnership.
They will compete with the William Hill-powered Penn National Gaming’s Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
The PGCB has yet to approve any online or mobile wagering product, apparently seeking to ensure that the land-based operations are perfoming to specification before doing so.
