A new Spanish operator association “Empresarios de Juego Online Asociados” (EJOA) has been established representing the interests of land-gambling operators (covering casinos, bingo halls, and recreational gambling) who have been licenced by DGOJ to operate in the online environment in Spain.
Eduardo Antoja of the CIRSA Group will head up the EJOA as President and Luis Miguel Cabeza de Vaca of Codere Group as vice-president.
Created to “maximize synergies between the two channels of game management, improved regulations and their harmonization”, the association counts Acrismatic Group and Top Rank Egasa Spain as founding members and says it has five other major business groups interested in joining.
Sacha Michaud, president of la asociación española de juego digital or JDIGITAL, which was formerly AEDAPI, said: “I know little of this association. But in any case consider this a positive initiative. JDIGITAL is not an association of operators, it brings together companies involved in e-commerce. That is, technology firms, payment methods, … The founding of EJOA does not weaken JDIGITAL. Participation in both is supported.”
