New top management for French gambling group

French online and retail gambling group Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has announced top management changes, appointing Bertrand Méheut as chairman and his Canal Plus colleague Cyril Linette as chief executive officer.

Méheut was chairman of Canal Plus from 2003 until 2015, while Linette served as sports director from 2008 until 2015.

The company advised in a statement Friday:

“The goal set for this new direction is to accelerate the revival of activity and brand on the core business of the PMU through the conquest of new customers, products and service innovation, the consolidation of its physical network and the international development of betting on French races.”
