Norway’s national gaming operator Norsk Tipping has agreed a ten-year extension to its existing VLT system technology provider relationship with Playtech subsidiary Videobet.
The strategic partnership between Playtech and Norsk Tipping began in 2003 building Videobet’s VLT products and services on more than one thousand Norsk Tipping retail outlets across Norway.
Under the contract, Videobet will continue to maintain and extend the capabilities of its VLT system. Through an open architecture, the system has successfully operated Videobet and third party content for more than 10 years, and Videobet is currently extending those open capabilities by adding support for Remote Game Servers.
An HTML5 game pilot, in partnership with Norsk Tipping, ran successfully during 2018.
Hans Erland Ringsvold, Head of Gaming operations, Norsk Tipping:
“We are very happy with the technology and services provided by Playtech and the Videobet team. We are confident that their VLT technology coupled with their professional expertise and experience from a wide range of markets will continue to provide great value for Norsk Tipping and ensure that we can fulfil our future VLT strategy and business objectives.”
Shimon Akad, COO, Playtech:
“For more than 15 years we have successfully supported Norsk Tipping in delivering a VLT program for the Norwegian market.
“We are excited to continue supporting them in the next 10 years, ensuring their VLT program remains fit for the market and provides a long-term sustainable offering that also caters to new generations of players.”
“Retail remains a core focus within Playtech and we look forward to be able to provide Norsk Tipping with our strategic roadmap going forward.”
