Sports betting and technology firm Offsidegaming has expanded its existing partnership with Worldstar Betting in Uganda.
The company has developed a specific version of its mobile website that supports Opera Mini, a browser that is used on over 2000 million mobile devices in the region, a statement said.
“We were really surprised by the volumes that we have seen in the first few weeks trading in Uganda,” Michael Soze, managing director of Worldstar betting Uganda said. “There is a massive appetite for sports betting generally and we are looking forward to getting more projects launched in the African continent generally.”
Matthew Alexander, chief executive officer of Offsidegaming added: “Stepping in to the African market is a giant leap for us at Offside and we really can’t wait to see it grow. Working with Worldstar betting Uganda on a more in-depth basis is great and we enjoying learning about this previously unknown market every-day and seeing new trends that will be invaluable to us both.”
A number of other projects will be launched in Uganda, Nigeria and Ghana using retail shop networks for transactions with the addition of mobile payment systems planned in the near future, Alexander revealed.
