Odeta Nestor, president of the Romanian regulator National Office for Gambling (ONJN) revealed this week that the nation’s gambling operators paid taxes of Euro 269 million last year, up by 71 percent compared to 2014.
Over and above that, operators paid Euro 70 million in land gambling licence fees, according to a report on Romanian-Insider.
Romania had 488 licensed operators last year, 19 of them online gambling companies.
