The launch of the Polish state’s monopoly on online gambling via Totalizator Sportowy has encountered delays regarding the selection of suppliers, and implementation could be postponed as long as the third quarter of 2018, according to some reports.
Deputy Treasury Minister Piotr Walczak revealed this information in response to a freedom of information request from two members of parliament, Agnieszka Kołacz-Leszczyńska and Joanna Frydrych.
The delays also apply to a slot hall project being managed by Totalizator Sportowy, the deputy minister confirmed, saying that the slot hall chain should be ready for launch a little earlier than the online casino project, hopefully in the first or second quarter.
Minister Walczak advised in December that the tender for the implementation and maintenance of an online casino enterprise was announced on August 25, 2017, and the opening of offers took place on November 6.
