More computers seized in police online gambling raids were trashed Monday when the Serdang police destroyed 1,312 machines to keep them out of circulation.
Serdang police chief Assistant Commissioner Megat Mohd Aminuddin Megat Alias said the police obtained a court order to dispose of the machines, which were confiscated throughout last year in a total of 422 successful police operations.
The execution of the destruction order was witnessed by Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmad, Subang Jaya Municipal Council president Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan and the magistrates.
Earlier this week Malaysian police in Kajang destroyed 5,042 computer sets similarly seized in police anti-online gambling raids in that region (see previous report).
