Online gambling the focus of next East Coast Gaming Congress

One of the US gambling industry’s premier annual conferences, the East Coast Gaming Congress will focus on online gambling as well as land issues when the eighteenth edition kicks off on May 19 at the Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

With online gambling increasingly occupying the US headlines as state-by-state legalisation evolves, the sessions on internet and mobile gambling are expected to provide an essential forum for examining and coordinating ideas regarding the future of the converging industry.

Michael Pollock, the managing director of Spectrum Gaming Group, which co-founded the East Coast Gaming Congress back in 1997, said Friday that new challenges faced the industry, requiring a coordinated and holistic approach, but that it would rise to face them.

“We designed our event to make sure that all the critical issues — starting with Internet wagering — are dealt with in the same forum. We bring all the leaders — from government, suppliers and operators — who will collectively set the policies and make the decisions, into one place where their ideas can be cross-pollinated and placed in the broadest context,” he said.

More than 600 gaming operators, equipment manufacturers, regulators, attorneys, architects, analysts, public officials, investors and other gaming-related professionals will be attending this year’s presentations. The full conference schedule and registration are available at www.ecgc.us.
