A games supply partnership agreement announced late last year between UK online gambling software developer GameAccount and the US branch of major Japanese casino equipment supplier Konami Gaming has now been finalised, reports the Irish Times.
The agreement sees Konami acknowledging GameAccount Network as its “preferred partner” and recommending its online gambling platform to the up to 80 land-based casinos that order equipment from Konami.
Dermot Smurfit, chief executive of GameAccount Network, told the newspaper that he believes a “substantial proportion” of the 80 casinos will use GAN technology to launch online gaming as a direct result of the deal with Konami.
Smurfit said that most of Konami’s land gambling customers are exploring how to develop an online presence as a growing number of US states consider the benefits of regulating and taxing online gambling.
