Online operations of Atlantic City casino fined

The Resorts Digital-branded online operation of Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel has been fined $7,187 by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement for allowing a self-excluded player to open an account and play.

The fine includes $1,187 the casino won from the self-excluded gambler.

The mishap apparently occurred as the result of a “computer programming error” around a month after the operation and its online content partner Sportech NYX Gaming achieved full online gambling licensing from the DGE.

Resorts also has a pending partnership with Amaya Gaming’s Pokerstars, contingent on that company achieving DGE licensed status, which is expected to occur before the end of 2015

In the same timeframe two land based Atlantic City operators, the Borgata and Tropicana, were issued penalties of $5,000 and $2,000 respectively for allowing gamblers under age 21 years to play.

Although a late arrival in the New Jersey online gambling sector, launching in February this year, Resorts Digital has been delivering impressive numbers, reporting gambling win of $735,140 in August 2015.
