Online sports betting firm to sponsor Wigan Warriors rugby

Online sportsbetting operator 188Bet has signed an agreement to become the main sponsor of the Lancashire Rugby League club Wigan Warriors RLFC in 2016, continuing a previous relationship with the rugby club.

The agreement gives 188Bet the customary sponsorship business, branding and publicity opportunities on the club’s digital channels and stadium, and the company says that it will also support Warrior community and social initiatives to obtain full value from the deal.

Simon Collison, marketing director for the Warriors said the new agreement includes shirt sponsorship and provision for significant branding at the DW Stadium, along with representation on the club’s official digital and social media channels.

188Bet m.d. Nigel Singer said in a statement: “The opportunity to sponsor a leading rugby team with the history, heritage and standing of the Wigan club was just too good to pass up. We have sponsored the Warriors in the past, and we’re thrilled to be sponsoring them again for 2016.”
