The Eastern European land and online betting group Fortuna’s latest set of results demonstrate yet again how important digital, and particularly mobile, betting on sports has become.
Fortuna Entertainment Group results in the nine months of 2013 to end September were boosted substantially by a 40.1 percent y-on-y rise in online and mobile gross win, which reached Euro 36.2 million.
Amounts wagered were up 21.3 percent and reached Euro 405.2 million, and gross win was up 6.9 percent to Euro 83.4 million, delivering EBITDA at Euro 8.1 million or 36.2 better than the same period last year.
Chief executive officer, Radim Haluza, said that the expansion in mobile and online sports betting was the chief driver of the company’s pleasing performance, and reason for continued confidence for the rest of the year.
