Online gambling software developer OpenBet has increased its overall headcount by 25 percent following the acquisition of its previously outsourced technical development hub in Greece, the Athens Technical Centre.
A company spokesman said the acquisition, for an undisclosed consideration, was part of Openbet’s strategy to increase its global presence and investment in innovation and its product line.
Under the title OpenBet Hellas, the acquisition will be incorporated into the group, focused on platform and product development.
“This deal concludes the plan originally set out – to provide a market-leading development resource that is immediately scalable and supports OpenBet’s need to efficiently recruit the right level of talent,” OpenBet chief executive Jeremy Thompson-Hill said Thursday.
“Achieving this in more established geographies is becoming increasingly challenging, so this acquisition will give us a significant advantage in continuing to serve customers effectively.”
