The UK online gambling software and games provider Openbet has secured associate membership of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) in a shrewd move that will create business networking opportunities in the emerging American online gambling market.
Representing 52 lottery organisations, NASPL is dedicated to the assembly and dissemination of information and the benefits of state and provincial lottery organisations through education and communications and, where appropriate, publicly advocates the positions of the trade body on matters of general policy.
Openbet will leverage its 17 years of online gambling experience in a diversity of regulatory jurisdictions through its membership. In recent years the company has built a useful position in the North American market, working with an increasing number of key provincial lotteries in Canada including the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and Loto-Quebec, who use the Openbet software platform.
The company offers an open online casino system with integrated online gaming content from partners that include IGT, Bally, WMS and Aristocrat.
David Gale, executive director at NASPL, said: “The North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) is pleased to have OpenBet become an associate member. We are appreciative of the support they, along with other leaders within our industry, have shown NASPL and look forward to working with them throughout the year.”
Jeremy Thompson-Hill, CEO of OpenBet, said his company looks forward to both contributing and benefiting from the considerable work the Association carries out in the lottery sector.
“North American lotteries are going through a structural shift as online becomes more prevalent and we look forward to sharing our experiences with the association,” he said, adding that Openbet will be exhibiting at the NASPL Annual Conference on October 1 to 4, 2013, in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.
