Betting and gambling software developer Optima IS, has signed two deals with Irish and UK independent bookmaker co-operatives for its Margin Maker 2 (MM2) betting and e-gaming platform for mobile and web.
Optima IS will support, develop and launch a full new Margin Maker 2 based betting and e-gaming platform in Q1 2015 for BETPACK, a co-operative of independent Irish bookmakers who operate over 150 betting shops along with an online and mobile site in the UK and Ireland at Betpack.com.
Jacob Curciel, chief executive officer and founder of Optima, said: “We have been working with Betpack already, developing their mobile and web sites for the last 18 months, and now we are able to extend our services to Betpack with the setup and operation of a full betting and egaming system.
“The MM2 platform offers a fantastic opportunity for Betpack to grow and offer an excellent first-class product focused in the Irish market where the organisation primarily operate.”
Betpack, who has been running as a white label to date, will now have a dedicated MM2 system on Optima’s betting and gaming private cloud infrastructure in Europe allowing the co-operative to plan and deliver their own marketing, promotional and product strategy.
Dominic Finlay, Head of Online for Betpack, said: We are very excited to be partnering with Optima IS, having our own dedicated platform will allow us to offer our customers an excellent sports betting and gaming experience. With Optima’s passion for sports betting and gaming technology, we believe they will be a great partner to help us grow BetPack further.
Under the terms of the second agreement, Optima IS will replace GTECH in supporting, maintaining and developing the Bookmakers Technology Consortium’s (BTC) Margin Maker 2 betting and e-gaming platform, effective November 1, 2014.
Optima IS entered into an agreement with GTECH earlier this year for the acquisition of rights and business from GTECH to support current Margin Maker 2 customers and to further the commercialisation of the MM2 platform.
The BTC is a co-operative of independent bookmakers operating over 350 betting shops in the UK and Ireland.
“We are very excited to work with the members of the Bookmakers Technology Consortium which have demonstrated a vast experience in the bookmaking industry, a clear strategic direction and a direct approach to business in general”, Curceil said.
“We will deliver our innovative and robust first-class products, part of Optima’s MM2 and services portfolio, allowing the BTC to compete at the highest level in the challenging UK market, on the retail, web and mobile channels.”
Howard Chisholm, Director of the Bookmakers Technology Consortium, added: “A major benefit of moving to Optima for supply of the Marginmaker2 software is an immediate reduction in the cost of new installations, we anticipate a significant increase in take up of the BTC services following this announcement.”
