Double Down Interactive, the Seattle-based operator of Double Down Casino on the internet social network Facebook, has entered into a distribution partnership with Wild Tangent, a cross-platform games service that allows global consumers to access downloadable, online and social games through one Games App.
The new pact gives Wild Tangent players a chance to win millions of dollars in virtual currency at the Double Down Casino, a spokesman said this week, claiming that the internet casino is one of the fastest-growing applications on Facebook with nearly 3 million monthly players and over 750,000 active every day.
“WildTangent has spent the better part of 10 years building out a massive casual game audience via their partnerships with leading PC manufacturers,” said Greg Enell, CEO and co-founder of Double Down Interactive. “[This deal will make] the DoubleDown Casino available to their millions of casual gamers and will go far towards extending our leadership position as the world’s largest virtual casino.”
Wild Tangent introduced a new channel dedicated to social games in July this year, which lets players leverage their Wild Coins virtual currency to get more from their gaming experience on Facebook. DoubleDown Casino offers the first casino-style games on the social games channel for Wild Tangent where players can use their Wild Coins to get more virtual chips with which to play blackjack or slot machines with friends.
Sean Vanderdasson, senior vice president at Wild Tangent said his company had hit the jackpot in the Double Down deal, and that game titles for slot tournaments were included.
Wild Tangent also owns a proprietary ad platform, Brand Boost, through which brand advertisers can make games available for players to rent, purchase or play for free.
